TGIF!

Well it's Friday, I really hope the rest of the weekend doesn't turn out how this Friday started! I went to the vet today, but I had to bring Sampson with me because he was scheduled for a bath. Sampson is out 7 1/2 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He is a really sweet boy that will lick ya to death :). We got to the vet and Laurie went to town giving him a much needed trim on the feet, belly, and a good scrub in the bath. While this was going on we noticed a little bump on his eyelid. Well, Dr. Walter checked it out and said that it was a growth, it needed to be removed because it was irritating his eye and would only get larger the longer it was on there. Poor Sammy, he went in for a bath, and then came out with that and surgery on his eye. He was a little dizzy from the medications to I had to carry him out and into the house. You always feel so bad when you have to see your animals like that, but it's always for the better. I sat Samps down on the couch and we fell where he was and went straight to sleep :)
While we were sitting on the couch watching a movie, I noticed that Sampsons breathing was irregular. I just thought it could have been the was he was laying there so I repositioned him to a better, more comfortable position. I was still a little worried, so I decided he needed a little pick-me-up. I got him some peanut butter on my finger because that is one of his favorite snacks! Yet, he didn't even make an initiative to smell it, so that's when I called my mom. She told me to take Sammy back to the vet and get his lungs and heart rate checked out, not worrying about the gas I would be losing, I packed Sampson out to my car and took a trip BACK to the vet.

As soon as I pulled into the PAC Samps jumped up like everything was fine, but I still wanted to make sure he was alright. Dr. Walter checked him out and said everything was completely fine. He was just breathing like that because he is an older dog and it takes a while for the medication to die down. I would have hated if something worse happened to him :(( Now he is knocked out on my moms bed, and probably will be there for a long time.
Finally relaxed I decided I would go for a swim in the pool. Zoey decided to join me...so there was no laying out for me. We played fetch in the pool for a little while and I sat her down so she could dry off. That was a negative...she had other plans apparently. She wanted to keep jumping in the pool until I had to go get her leash and tie her up in the shade to dry.

Finally, I was able to relax,

And soak up some of that wonderful sun :)

Yet, everytime I was out of sight of Zoey, she would yelp, and yelp, and yelp, and yelp, and yelp until she had my attention. I decided to take her in since she was dry enough and she yelped some more. Too bad for my brother and mom who had to deal with it now. After an hour in the pool I came to the door and saw that she had never left and was just waiting for me to come in and snuggle with her :)

Now I need to get ready to head to the Lake house with the Grimms and celebrate this wonderful weekend! Keep wishing no rain everyone and I will get back here on Sunday! :) Have a wonderful, sunny, dry, exciting weekend!!
