Bored, and that's perfectly fine.

Well, it's Wednesday and I haven't gotten as much done this week as I had planned on:

-washing bed sheet
-doing laundry
-cleaning my room
-purchasing generic Dramamine for Zoey (she gets carsick!)
-cleaning my bathroom
-figuring out what to bake for the 4th

So far the only things that have gotten done are washing my bed sheet and buying the meds for Zoey. I can only clean out my car so many times this summer...decided I would take some action. I haven't done much this Wednesday though. I woke up to an whimpering puppy ready to go relieve itself at 5:00. Boy was I ecstatic (sarcastic?) Once I'm awake I tend not to fall back asleep, so I took advantage of these few extra hours before the heat of the sun smothered my favorite reading spot and read a few chapters of my new book. The Art of Racing in the Rain, by Garth Stein. I previously mentioned it in my last/first post. So far I have laughed, almost cried, and just fell in love with this heart warming book. Though, I feel like I know how it's going to end. There are some crazy things in this book you would just have to read to find out exactly what I am talking about. Overall, 4 1/2 out of 5 stars for me....though it doesn't take much to impress me when I'm bored.

Zoey was my page turner for the morning, whether I wanted her to have the job or not. I had to bring her in after a while because she had been chasing birds. Tisk, tisk. I guess today was pretty much dedicated to Zoey (Wait...isn't that everyday?) We played frisbee, sat on the hammock, she played in the ditch full of water (against my wishes) and went hiking through the woods! And a little training on the side where she tried to chomp my fingers off  the whole time...*sigh*

I know she'll get the hang of it soon, she's still just a puppy :)  I got to squeeze a little time in today to help my little sister with her Trumpet lesson material (Thanks a lot Addisson) and also teaching her the basics on how to march since she will be in the Marching band this year! I'm so proud of her, she's grown up to be such a lovely, talented young lady! Also, we wear the same size clothes now and that's always a plus! Sometimes a negative too because I will come home to a roomy closet where she had been "borrowing" my clothes. Since I'm away from my family during school much more now, I tend to cherish moments with them more than I ever have. My siblings no longer get on my last nerves, I never really get annoyed by my parents (sometimes...), I enjoy the quiet times of being home now :)

Tonight I will be visiting the Grimms household for a little :) It's always fun when I go over there because, well, that whole family is fun! It's always a joy to spend time with people you love, when my grandfathers passed away it hit me hard, still does. But I have learned to try to keep family and friends close to you because you never know when something will happen.

On a brighter note: 4th of July is coming up! I want to make some sweet dishes and I've thought about them alot...I can't decide between chocolate and marshmallow croissants, or nutella croissants...hmmmm. And quite possibly a punch bowl cake! I have a lot of things to get going on, I hope everyone had a fantastic day and thanks for reading!!

First Post Ever!

Welcome to my awesome new blog that I spent forever trying to perfect (still not there). Why M&M's For Zoey? Well, My first and last names start with an M and I just recently got a new puppy who I named Zoey. She is a beautiful black and white Australian Shepherd. She is the first dog that is considered all mine :) So I'm pretty excited for her to be a part of my crazy adventures.

She's grown a lot since that picture. I have been volunteering at the Pennyrile Animal Medical Center this whole summer and have seen many interesting things and met some awesome people! I enjoy working there  because it gives me a feel of what to expect when I am out on my own working a grown up job! Haha, I absolutely love it. PAC has made me realize that I have chosen the right path for myself. Though, every animal I see I want to adopt...so that could be a problem in the near future. Today I watched a cat get declawed for the first time, OUCH! I've learned so many things!

I also bought this new book called The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. Being the dog lover I am I am pretty excited about this one. It tells a story in the eyes of a dog, I will let you all know how it is!

I am super excited for this upcoming weekend! Since it is 4th of July weekend I'll be spending it at the lake with the Grimm family! Soaking up some sun (hopefully) and then Sunday night my family usually goes over to a friends house and watched their firework show. On Monday my family and friends will be having a huge cookout and firework show! So I'm pretty pumped! But everyone be safe while shooting off the fireworks please!

Have a wonderful day!
